We're more than just sister-in-laws, we've been close friends and working partners for over five years. Even when we're thousands of miles away from each other, we're constantly Facetiming just to hang out. While we're both go-with-the-flow kind of people when it comes to shooting, we process it in different ways. Rachel thinks out loud, while Cara is more exacting. On a shoot, we are there to collaborate with you, hype you up, and make you laugh. We're your assistant on your wedding day, helping you carry your flowers or hem a dress. Our strength lies in when we work together. We bounce ideas off of each other, we build on each others' ideas, and boost each others' confidence throughout a shoot or a wedding day.

Rachel Livermore

Virgo ENFP • a natural planner • eats way too much spaghetti • 80's rock girl • excitedly freaks out over any dog she sees

Rachel is the ultimate hype-man. Even when we're out getting Starbucks, she goes out of her way to tell any women who crosses her path how gorgeous they look or how cute their outfit is. Her life's mission is to make people feel good about themselves in a world that tells them that they're not. As a new mom, she's learned firsthand how fleeting and fast life is, and has found a new appreciation for her role as a photographer - we cement memories to be treasured for the rest of your life. And nothing's more important than that.

She started her photography career by taking photos of her beloved dog Dexter and the flowers and blades of grass around her house. (A real naturalist!) Because of her naturally outgoing personality, she shortly got into taking photos of people. When asked to do her first wedding, she partnered up with Cara and grew into where she is today.

Cara Livermore

INTJ Aries • obsessively organized • 10-year vegan • old movie aficionado • art history buff

Cara has always been an avid observer. A classic introvert, she’s been honing her skills of recognizing moments since she was just a kid. That’s why today, weddings are her favorite subjects to shoot - she looks for those in-between moments that go beyond the surface of how people think they should present themselves in front of the camera. She takes her inspiration from cinematic, classic compositions, making a photoshoot feel more like stills from a movie.

Knowing that she’d grow up to be an artist, she spent her teen years in every art class possible, then later on going to get her BFA with a minor in art history. Over ten years later, she’s been shooting photographs daily, whether for clients or for her own personal life. For her, photography is a necessity - something that solidifies fleeting moments into something beautiful that’ll be there decades later.

Born, raised, and photographing in Rochester NY.

Let’s do this thing.

Whether it’s a wedding, family session, or your senior portraits, we trade in once-in-a-lifetime moments. The only thing guaranteed to stick around after your wedding day are images (and maybe your hangover.) Your baby will only be a baby for so long, then all of a sudden they’re a senior in high school. These are points in time that can be frozen and cherished for the rest of your lives.

This is the biggest thing driving us as portrait photographers – knowing that your kids will recreate our photos in 30 years when they’re adults, or that you’ll always have that photo of you and your grandmother laughing together at your wedding. We love getting to be a part of the big rites of passage (we’ve cried at our fair share of first dances, or emotional dad speeches) and those little, seemingly inconsequential moments that are shared in between.

Our Process

  1. A get-to-know-each-other meeting.

  2. After meeting and talking out ideas, a 25% deposit and contract is due to book your date.

  3. For non-wedding shoots, we collaborate on location ideas, outfit consultations, and Pinterest inspiration boards, and schedule a date. For weddings, we decide on whether an engagement shoot is right for you, and take you through the same process of collaboration.

  4. For weddings, we get a detailed questionnaire back from you a month before the big day. We give ample advice around what to expect/plan for, what timelines you might want to go with, and any other anxieties around planning large events. We’ve got a LOT of experiences we call back to when giving you our best advice!

  5. The shoot happens! Whether it’s a senior session, wedding, best friend session, whatever you’ve chosen.

  6. Depending on the type of session you booked, we deliver your photos to you via our incredible website service 1-5 weeks after your shoot. (From there, you can download, share, and get prints all in one place.)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you travel?

Yes! We love getting to see new places, and cover Rochester, the surrounding counties, and the greater Western New York area. Travel fees apply to any location outside any surrounding county from Monroe County.

Do you require a deposit for shoots? Is it refundable?

To lock in your shoot date, we require a non-refundable 25% deposit (as well as a signed contract) up front for all shoots. The rest of the fee is required within a week prior to your session. Other payments will depend on the package you choose - contact us for more details!

What are your payment methods?

We accept checks for all shoots, or cash for any shoot under $500. We like to have a written record of payments, especially on something as big as a wedding day!

How many photos do I get? Can I book you for just 1-2 quick photos?

We’re primarily documentary, lifestyle kind of photographers, which means we specialize in candids and in-between moments. We shoot a lot of photos to make sure we get the perfect capture of a moment, because there are a lot of blinking, awkward faces in between. The photos you get are the best versions of the photos we’ve taken, without duplicates, blurry mis-fires, or shots of you blinking. The exact amount varies from client to client, and depending on the type of session. For weddings, we deliver between 75-100 photos per hour. For other sessions, it can be on average 50 photos per hour depending on if we switch locations or outfits.

The amount we deliver is based on our experience and style. We know that getting that dream photo of your kids takes more than a single shot. The best shots come from your kids laughing at how funny one of them sounded when they said “CHEESE”, after the “ideal” shot was taken. And since you got them all dressed up anyway, why waste it on just one photo? We are lovers of storytelling, and that doesn’t come from just one photo.

How long until I get my images?

For regular photo sessions, it takes between 1-2 weeks. For weddings, depending on how long your wedding is and if it’s during our peak season (May and October), your wait time will vary, but on average it takes 2-5 weeks to get your completed image set to you. We’ll send you a few sneak peeks as we edit them, though!

What’s the differences between your packages? Can I customize a package? Can I change my package later?

We base our packages around the amount of time your session includes, as well as how many people are involved, any travel needed, any prints included, and much more.

We’re happy to swap out most features, which we often talk about in our initial meeting, after learning what it is that you’re envisioning for your session.

You can always upgrade any package you decide on, but we ask that you give us a head’s up about the change beforehand so we can confirm we have enough time to change your shoot.

Where can I get prints of my photos?

We think prints are personal and unique - everyone has different tastes & budgets for different paper & printing methods. Because printing companies vary greatly in pricing, quality, and how easy (or hard) it is to work with them, we’ve built a new system that incorporates your gallery (complete with sharing, favoriting, and downloading) into a super easy printing system. You can get the type of prints you want, like albums, canvasses, calendars and way more. AND we can set it so anyone in your family can get prints, too, if you like, for big events like weddings. (Because Aunt Sharon deserves to get prints of your uncle Bob shotgunning a beer, as well as one of you and your family all smiling together for her scrapbook.)

If you don’t want to use our gallery print shop, though, all shoots include a high resolution print release, instructions on how to print your images if you need them, and recommendations for printing companies we love. Because we want to make sure you have high quality products that can last a lifetime—not cheap Walgreens 1 hour photo prints that fade in a year.
